Getting in to Real Estate for me has to do more with giving people the chance to take control of their lives. I arrived in Canada in 1974 and bought my first home in six months. Just newly-married, to my wife Carol we decided to buy a home in Mississauga, in a village called Streetsville. The reaction from my co-workers at the time, since I worked in the e Royal York area of Toronto, was why would you buy out in the boonies! Unfortunately they don't come from a country (England) that has little land and where a home would cost you an arm and a leg. With hard work and two boys later, I went from strength to strength and along the way anybody who would listen I would tell them to buy their own home. I would tell them a reality, such as there are more people on this planet than yesterday, so there is even less to go around today. A number of them did buy their own homes. I believe with all my being that home ownership is one of the greatest freedoms we have. We must never take it lightly, a great country is built from the foundation up, which makes Canada a great country to raise your children. And that, my friends is why I got into Real Estate. P.S Those co-workers of mine did buy their own homes.
