Ron was born and raised in the City of Lethbridge, and has lived in the area for most his life except for brief periods of experience in Clearbrook, BC and Lloydminster AB / SK.
Ron graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology. Since then, Ron has held positions in quality and environmental management and as a consultant in biotechnology and environmental/processing systems. He has worked in areas including security services management and municipal bylaw services. Ron is currently serving his community of Coalhurst in the elected office of Town Councillor.
A big thing for Ron is building up community, where all residents can be proud of the place they live. For him, this means working together with residents, businesses and volunteer groups with an approach that emphasizes communication, encouragement, and enthusiasm.
Ron and his wife, Annette, chose to raise their family of four children in Coalhurst and have owned their home in this town since 1996.
A shared passion of the entire Lagemaat family is "The Beautiful Game" of soccer. From the days of rural Coulee Kicker's, LSA's house league, Lethbridge Football Club rep soccer, CMSA Foothills Voltage, Alberta Provincial Team, to the National Training Centre as players, and coaching, reffing, and volunteering on and off the Board as soccer parents and life-coaches, the Lagemaat family is always on the soccer go!
