My interest in real estate has developed over the years, however I must say it started in the early 1970's, in Toronto, Ontario when my parents were able to buy their first home with a government grant to assist first time home buyers. They renovated and bought and sold, always moving to a better neighbourhood and a better home. Today they are in a sound financial position all thanks to their real estate investments.
Learning from my parents experience, I purchased many properties in different settings and in this way I expanded my real estate knowledge.
My first purchase was in Toronto in the early 8o's when the interest rates were through the roof. My second was a semi-detached home with a flat and the third was a brand new home in a subdivision.
In BC my fist purchase was a leaky condo. The leaky condo crisis has been one of the main concerns affecting the condo apartment market in the lower mainland. This was one of my most profitable investments with a current 300% return.
Although, I had a lot of of experience with the condo market in lower mainland my dream was to own a large detached home in a great neighbourhood and I was able to use the return on the condo as equity towards the purchase of my home in Heritage Mountain.
I share all of this with you because I am a passionate believer of the opportunities of real estate whether as a place to call home or as an investment and from my experiences I know how to make it happen.
